Four storefronts at 99/100

Four Shopify stores running at once, with merchandising changes landing continuously. Theme work, Shopify Plus configuration, and custom apps — as the only engineer on the front end.

Rebuilding the theme and its underlying structure took Google PageSpeed to 99/100. The harder part was keeping it there: a score is a snapshot, and every subsequent app install, tracking pixel and section addition pushes against it.

What made it hold was moving the decisions upstream — a theme structure where the expensive thing is inconvenient to add, rather than a one-off optimisation pass that decays the week after it ships.

Upgraded a legacy codebase in place, without asking the business to freeze merchandising work while it happened.
