Medical tracking & physiotherapy

Two clinical web applications — a stroke-patient platform for doctors and patients, and a records SPA that also controlled physiotherapy hardware over MQTT.

Stroke-patient platform

A web application used by stroke patients and their doctors, built on Node, Express, GraphQL with Apollo, React and Redux, with MongoDB behind it and an MQTT broker for device data.

I designed the solutions and implemented them on both sides, which in practice meant translating a client's concept into something buildable — and advising on scope and best practice while doing it. Also set up CI/CD on Jenkins and redesigned the entire site.

Physiotherapy records SPA

A single-page application for tracking medical records and controlling physiotherapy devices, supporting patients through restorative treatment.

Redesigned the whole interface with the motion and interaction the workflow needed — in a clinical setting, state transitions have to be obvious, not merely correct.

Why these still matter to me

They were the first products I built where being wrong had a cost beyond a bug report. It set the habit of tracing a problem to its actual cause before shipping a fix over the top of it.
